This is the entry cake to the Austin Cake Show that my friend April did for 2007 -- way back in February. This cake won the best of division for beginners.
If you click on it, you can see the details in the stringwork and the gumpaste flowers.

So I finally finished and posted my Santa cake from a class I took almost 2 weeks ago! This Santa Cake is just a little over 2-feet tall from base to the top of his head.
It is the cake I did in a class with Bronwen Weber. I had to bring him home to finish up his bag and repair his beard -- it was shaken off during the ride home.

This is just way too cute!
Sissy, twinsline7's daughter, did this for a school project.
She is in kindergarten! She came up with the plan and did most of it herself! This is a girl that knows what she wants! Love that!!!
Great job, SIssy. I can't wait to see what else you can come up with!
After the last couple of posts of gingerbread houses, I am motivated -- Yeah, we'll see!
So my birthday was yesterday, the 6th, and this was my treat to me. I took some time to make a cookie just because. I love leopards and love animal print, so this was perfect.
He is a handcut cookie and covered in spotted fondant. If I get the chance to make another leopard cookie, I will do it a darker base and make bigger spots.
Ok, back to the Christmas stuff...

Here is the finished Gingerbread House from ineedathis.
Wow! Amazing. I have never undertaken a Gingerbread House before and this one does two things for me. The beauty and the detail inspire me to do one. The beauty and the detail scare me to do one!
Check out ineedathisflickr stream for some more amazing shots of this beautiful work of art!

Now as much as I loved Turkeys and Thanksgiving, I love Snowmen and Christmas. I am actually starting to put out some Christmas decorations around the house today. I might as well start decorating this blog as well.
This is a cake I did last year for a few of my nieces and nephews!
Every day I will post a Christmas Sweet from the Sweet Daze Flickr Group. Merry Christmas, Happy Snowmen, Let the Decorating Begin!!!
